Terms of service

2023 SERVICE CONTRACT

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.

An Agreement made between Cameron Stewart-Mathews (Drummers Link) and you (The Student/ Parent or Guardian) for the Teacher to give a drum lesson at an arranged time (to be agreed between the Student/Parent and Teacher) to the Student for a set monthly fee (determined by length and frequency of lessons), payable prior to the (1st) first day of each month by Bank Standing Order/Direct Debit.

Lesson times are pre-agreed by the Parent and Teacher and that time slot will be kept available for the Student obliging them to attend, unless agreed by both parties beforehand.

A minimum of 48 hours notice is required for a lesson cancellation. Any less will result in the loss of a week’s payment. Provided this notice is given, a rescheduled lesson can be arranged for a future date or you can opt to receive a video recorded lesson instead. Rescheduled sessions are limited to two per academic year.

This Agreement is accepted subject to the conditions printed below and may only be varied with the agreement of both parties.

THESE CONDITIONS FORM AN INTEGRAL PART OF THIS CONTRACT

1. FEES

Lesson fees are to be paid by Standing Order on the (1st) first day of each calendar month. This is a set fee every month and accounts for business closure throughout the year. Please see the 2022 Business Closure Dates under the My Account - Agreements section of your Portal account.

Your set fee will have been communicated to you depending on the length and frequency of lessons. 2022 individual lesson rates listed below.

30-mins lesson = £21.54 per lesson / £70 month

45-mins lesson = £32.31 per lesson / £105 month

60-mins lesson = £38.77 per lesson / £126 month

Lesson fees are subject to annual review. New customers will receive a payment schedule, illustrating your monthly set fee.

2. MISSED LESSONS

There are no refunds for missed lessons. If you give 48 hours of notice for a cancellation, you are able to arrange a rescheduled class time with your Teacher or receive a video recorded lesson, which will be produced and delivered during your usual lesson time. Rescheduled classes are capped at two per academic year.

If the Teacher is unavailable to give any scheduled lesson, this will be communicated with you and the lesson will be rescheduled for another time or delivered as a video recording, depending on preference and availability.

If there are extenuating circumstances surrounding a late lesson cancellation, then a class reschedule or video recording may be offered at the Teacher’s discretion.

3. ADDITIONAL LESSONS

Extra lessons may be scheduled at any time by mutual agreement.

4. TERMINATION OF AGREEMENT

A decision to discontinue lessons, or change length or frequency, may be taken by the Student/ Parent/Guardian or the Teacher in which case (1) one month’s notice shall be given by either party. In the event that the Student discontinues lessons, the Student/Parent/Guardian will be liable to pay fees for those lessons during the notice period.

A final bill will be sent to the bill payer, which will account for any lessons in the notice period. Due to monthly fees being averaged throughout the year, you may find that you’ve received more or less lessons than paid for to date, so adjustments will be made in your final bill per our record of attendance.

There is a cooling off period of 30 days for new customers, starting from the day they take their first lesson, whereby they may choose to terminate lessons without the need for a further 30 days notice. However, the usual 48 hours prior notice for a cancellation still applies, and you will still receive a final bill for any outstanding amount.

5. GENERAL

a) The Student/Parent/Guardian agrees to pay for any music/drum sticks/kit repairs/concerts etc. required by the Student and provided by the Teacher.

b) The Student/Parent/Guardian will be responsible for any loss or damage incurred to any instrument, accessory or music loaned by the Teacher to the Student. Such items will be returned on request to the Teacher.

c) The Teacher will not enter the Student for any examination/festival etc. without the approval of the Student/Parent/Guardian. Any entry fees for examinations/festivals etc. will be paid by the Student/ Parent/Guardian.

d) In the interests of the Student’s wellbeing whilst in the Teacher’s care, the Teacher must be informed of any medical or other condition affecting the Student.

NOTES FOR GUIDANCE

The Teacher understands their responsibility to have relevant insurance in place to teach members of the public and have children in their care.

It is important to note that while a Teacher will use his or her best endeavours to ensure the Pupil makes satisfactory progress, this cannot be guaranteed. In particular, careful regular practice as advised by the Teacher is a pre-requisite of success on a musical instrument.
